Although we were very excited that high vaccine stats and falling Covid-19 cases in the late spring, early summer would allow us to host our annual golf tournament, the golf course has now notified us that the rising Delta variant cases in our area may very well result in tighter in-dining restrictions once again … and that they cannot assure us that we would be able to host the dinner portion of the event. We also feel that we should be prudent given the high daily case stats and after much discussion, have decided to postpone the tournament for another year.
Again, we have decided to replace the event for calendar 2021 with the Better Days Society (non)-Golf Tournament Fund Raiser. We had a very good response to this last year and we are hoping each and every one of you can find it in your hearts to help us with our fundraising for the following year.

As we headed into the late summer, it was obvious that the worldwide pandemic was not good to be favourable to the "running of a golf tournament." There is an anticipation of a 2nd wave for this fall, and our regional active cases are on the rise.
As a result, we have decided to replace the event for calendar 2020 with a Better Days Society (non)-Golf Tournament Fund Raiser. We know that the pandemic has hit people and businesses in different ways, but we are hopeful that many of our past supporters will be in the position to assist our Society with a donation similar to what they would have spent had we been able to run the tournament. This funding is important to us as it is our only significant fundraiser each year. If you are interested in donating to us, click on the link below to see our donation form:
“ The Board of Directors of Better Days Society would like to thank all of it’s generous supporters in participating in our September 2020 Non- Golf Tournament. As Covid would not allow us to host our one and only annual fund raiser golf tournament in 2020, we reached our to our loyal supporters with a very significant ask … help us continue our efforts for 2020/21 by sending donations that would be equivalent to what they would normally have spent had they been able to participate in the tournament. We were amazed and grateful for the tremendous support we received (both financially and in kind words of appreciation for what the Society accomplishes each year)! Accordingly, due to the ongoing support, our Non-Golf Tournament was a great success … allowing us to continue our support in the community, especially in a year where there were a lot more requests! ”
Once again, the Society hosted a very successful golf event in September 2020 at the Pitt Meadows Golf Course. We had over 70 golfers, many sponsorships, and numerous cash contributors…all of which resulted in a very successful day of fundraising for us! A huge thanks and debt of gratitude to all those who contributed to this day! Also, a big thank you to the staff at Pitt Meadows Golf Course for being such gracious hosts and for providing an excellent dinner for our group.
During the event, we were able to outline our many initiates in helping Families that have one or more children with severe medical issues and are under significant financial stress as a result. See OUR STORIES on this website for more details.
As we hosted this event, we received a huge amount of feedback from the participants about how we run our Society, the causes we support, and the tournament event ran that day! Thank you for the great feedback and support.
The Better Days Society (BDS) ran a very successful golf tournament in September 2018 at the Pitt Meadows Golf Course in Pitt Meadows, BC.
Thanks to the generosity of those who came to play, as well as those who were unable to attend, but kindly provided sponsorship and/or cash donations, BDS had a very worthwhile fund raising experience! We believe that those who participated were treated to a fun day on the golf course, a great meal, some terrific silent auction items. While it first looked like we were going to have a wet day on the course, the weather held out for most of the day and everyone came in warm and dry!
