Post-Covid GOLF TOURNAMENT – Thursday, Sept 16, 2021 – Pitt Meadows Golf Course

With the increase of vaccines administered in our area, we are hopeful that The Better Days Society can once again host it’s Annual Golf Tournament. We have reserved a place and time (see above) and would love to see a successful return to an event that all of our long time supporters have come to look forward to and enjoy participating in. While we know that this is subject to BC Health restrictions being lifted, we are operating under the belief that we are well on our way to seeing current restrictions eased in our areas (by that date). We are looking to increase our participants to break the 100-golfers mark this year. We have moved the date a bit earlier in September and moved it to a Thursday, which we are hoping increases the chance of good weather and eliminates it being tied into a weekend, which has caused some conflict in the past.

I Am Interested in Playing In or Donating to the 2021 Event

This is our only significant fund raiser each year and this provides the funding that allows us to assist financially stressed families with severely sick children. Please consider registering with us (even better … round up a 4-some or two – make it a company event, a social event, a family event)! Our key focus for the event is to have a fun event, including a fabulous meal (ask anyone who has participated previously – Pitt Meadows does a terrific buffet!) and raise some money.

September 2020

As we headed into the late summer, it was obvious that the worldwide pandemic was not good to be favourable to the "running of a golf tournament." There is an anticipation of a 2nd wave for this fall, and our regional active cases are on the rise.

As a result, we have decided to replace the event for calendar 2020 with a Better Days Society (non)-Golf Tournament Fund Raiser. We know that the pandemic has hit people and businesses in different ways, but we are hopeful that many of our past supporters will be in the position to assist our Society with a donation similar to what they would have spent had we been able to run the tournament. This funding is important to us as it is our only significant fundraiser each year. If you are interested in donating to us, click on the link below to see our donation form:

The Board of Directors of Better Days Society would like to thank all of it’s generous supporters in participating in our September 2020 Non- Golf Tournament. As Covid would not allow us to host our one and only annual fund raiser golf tournament in 2020, we reached our to our loyal supporters with a very significant ask … help us continue our efforts for 2020/21 by sending donations that would be equivalent to what they would normally have spent had they been able to participate in the tournament. We were amazed and grateful for the tremendous support we received (both financially and in kind words of appreciation for what the Society accomplishes each year)! Accordingly, due to the ongoing support, our Non-Golf Tournament was a great success … allowing us to continue our support in the community, especially in a year where there were a lot more requests! ”

August 2019

Once again, the Society hosted a very successful golf event in September 2020 at the Pitt Meadows Golf Course. We had over 70 golfers, many sponsorships, and numerous cash contributors…all of which resulted in a very successful day of fundraising for us! A huge thanks and debt of gratitude to all those who contributed to this day! Also, a big thank you to the staff at Pitt Meadows Golf Course for being such gracious hosts and for providing an excellent dinner for our group.

During the event, we were able to outline our many initiates in helping Families that have one or more children with severe medical issues and are under significant financial stress as a result. See OUR STORIES on this website for more details.

As we hosted this event, we received a huge amount of feedback from the participants about how we run our Society, the causes we support, and the tournament event ran that day! Thank you for the great feedback and support.

November 2018

The Better Days Society (BDS) ran a very successful golf tournament in September 2018 at the Pitt Meadows Golf Course in Pitt Meadows, BC.

Thanks to the generosity of those who came to play, as well as those who were unable to attend, but kindly provided sponsorship and/or cash donations, BDS had a very worthwhile fund raising experience! We believe that those who participated were treated to a fun day on the golf course, a great meal, some terrific silent auction items. While it first looked like we were going to have a wet day on the course, the weather held out for most of the day and everyone came in warm and dry!

In MEMORY Of

KATHLEEN MARY CASEY

KATHLEEN MARY CASEY

March 9, 1926 to December 21, 2020

From the Casey Family – Grandma continues to bless us even after her passing. In her memory, we wanted to donate to an organization that helps children and families in practical ways. We think that Grandma would be honored to help people in our community through the Better Days Society. Grandma Leaves a legacy of love & family ties. She had 4 children, 8 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren at the time of her passing – and twins on the way just shortly after her passing. We are so thankful that our Grandma had a wonderful, long, full life. We are so blessed to help others in her memory. May 2021 (Thank you for your kindness – The Board of The Better Days Society).
